Save the Children
Save the Children works in 120 countries. We save children’s lives. We fight for their rights. We help them fulfil their potential. We believe that no child is born to die. Yet shockingly over 8 million children under the age of 5 die from preventable diseases like pneumonia and diarrhoea. Your support will help us be the generation to end preventable child deaths.

Organisations MAPFest supports
‘Love Congo’ works alongside partner organisations in the Democratic Republic of Congo. DR Congo is a beautiful country set in the heart of Africa, yet it has seen some of the worst violence since World War II. The effect of a continual power struggle between leaders has been catastrophic, with more than four million killed since 1998. Many have suffered horrific abuse, including rape and sexual slavery by armed groups, which has contributed to the advance of HIV/Aids.
Violence is particularly strong in the North-East of the country close to the border with Rwanda where the rebel groups operate. Our Love Congo project is based in Butembo, a city of around 800,000 people, many of whom are war refugees.
Our work comes under 3 main areas:
– Supporting Rehabilitation
– Providing Education
– Developing Business
